Student games

Alife

Made in 2011 with Sébastien Capron, Quentin Fetiveau, Arthur Guillot, Estelle Léoni & Jonathan Vasseur. I was lead game designer & level designer.

It’s the graduate project I worked on this whole year (from October 2010 to June 2011). As we were all student in game design, everyone had his word about the choices we did. You can find further information on the fake website.

Alife is a Real Time Strategy game for iPad in which you control a virus spreading its infection through a mysterious organism. You have to change your genetic code to fool your host, divide your cell to fix new viral sources and fight the immune defenses thanks to special cells you have to contaminate.

Fabriko

Made in 2009 with Corentin Delprat. I was game designer, level designer & developer.

My first flash game made with a friend of mine for a French contest of Serious Game. The theme was « Chic & Shoke ». It’s not really fun. Except the visual aspect, it’s quite a failed. The goal was to make a serious game with a lot of gameplay instead of a kind of quizz, or a succession of mini-games (like it was few years ago).

But finally, it was to ambitious for a first game and the game design doesn’t suit to the target. Those mistakes allowed me to learn a lot from that project. Anyway, you can play here but it’s in French…

Frozen Llama

Made in 2010 with Sébastien Capron, Quentin Fetiveau, Arthur Guillot, Estelle Léoni & Jonathan Vasseur. I was game designer & developer.

These game was made in a week on the theme Water & Teleportation. It’s a classic puzzle game in a weird and crazy universe. As a player, you have to solve puzzles to help a stuck Llama in a ice block to reach the exit by spitting on itself thanks to the teleporters distributed through  the level.

Leelh Cards

Made in 2009 with Olivier Delbos, Jérémy Horn, Audrey Le Roy & Mathieu Philippe. I was game designer & developer.

We had a week to make a prototype of an advertgame on iPhone for Leelh, a French MMORPG built on a survival aspect. The prototype was made in Flash and playable on Windows. It is a cooperative card games, in which the player has to search to find cards (helping him to fight, but also to eat, drink…) , join a clan to trade, …

Each day, the player has a limited action point, that’s why he cannot survive too long alone : he has to cooperate with others to be powerful enough. You can test the prototype here but the experience is not really relevant without explanations.

Post Mortem

Made in 2008 with David Boitier, Corentin Delprat & Pierre Gaudillère. I was project manager.

It’s A Gamebook in which you have to solve how you just died. For that, you can replay the last two hours of your life.  However, you can only be at one place for a specific time. That’s why the player have to play several times to understand the whole story. The main idea behind the conception of this Gamebook was to find a solution to avoid cheating. Finnally, you can cheat but it’s really tiresome.

Tobacco Strike

Made in 2008 with Corentin Delprat, Coline Gattolin & Mathieu Lagadec. I was game designer

This is a Serious Card Game made in partnership with a French organism fighting against the cancer and the French National Academic institute in order to provide a card game to children. Tobacco Strike explains to the children the danger of smoking with simple mechanism. The game offers simple option, fast pace and a strong replay value in order to encourage the children to play several times and thus understand the message little-by-little.
